iFIX 6.5 awarded
There are still two months to the Olympics in Beijing, but the first medals have already been awarded. Bronze medal went to the Proficy iFIX 6.5 software. Of course, this is not about figure skating competition, but about LEAP awards, i.e. Leadership in Engineering Achivement Program. The results of this prestigious competition were announced during remote ceremony in several different categories – including the Software category.
The prizes were awarded by an independent jury panel composed of engineers and scientists, not by the organizer – the WTWH Media competition.
The GE Digital flagship SCADA was recognized for the improvement of industrial processes, thanks to the use of the latest technologies and simplified design. These elements help increase efficiency, accelerate critical decision making, and facilitate SCADA implementation for industrial automation and IT system integrators.
The improvements pointed out by experts include, above all, Configuration Hub (a free tool that appeared as a new feature in iFIX 6.5 and Historian 9.0), which facilitates database management, as well as the implementation of subsequent Proficy installations, thanks to the creation of configuration patterns. An important element is also the use of the ISA 101 standard. Thanks to its application, the operator is able to immediately notice any irregularities that may occur during the production and shorten his response time. It is all thanks to the distinctive colors: red and yellow, against the gray background.
Proficy iFIX has also gained recognition for its fast startup as well as efficient dynamo objects.
It is the only SCADA application awarded in the LEAP competition.
