After Integrator 4.0 Conference

On April 20-21, 2023 in Chorzow (Poland), the annual meeting of automation system integrators working with Proficy solutions from GE Digital was held. This was the 6th edition of the event organized by VIX Automation. This year’s formula has been modified – to effectively share the latest knowledge with our partners the event lasted two days instead of one. This time we stayed at the Gorczowski Hotel **** in Chorzów, located in the historic building of the former casino, erected in 1916.

After the official opening by the CEO, Mariusz Benna and Justyna Gembalczyk, who is now responsible for the development of the partner channel, the conference started with a task prepared by Łukasz Buczek from technical department. ‘First steps with Proficy iFIX’  was supposed to be a form of a warm-up for the experienced partners and an introduction for the new ones.

Then, Piotr Marynowski presented a new way of working with iFIX projects – the use of Configuration Hub as a tool for central management of Proficy products.

On that day, we also talked about the use of the OPC UA protocol in Proficy iFIX (ensuring secure communication), efficient operator screens compliant with the ISA 101 standard and about the use of a plant model in creating visualizations.

After the business part of the event, we went to the Mystery Machinery – a gaming centre in Katowice, for the networking and integration part, where we had a lot of attractions waiting for us. Playing VR or laser paintball gave us a lot of fun and was a good workout, too. Then trying to get out of the escape rooms turned out to be a real challenge for us – if not for the hints, we would still be stuck in the rooms 😉 there was no end of laughter 😊

On the second day of the meeting, participants saw, among other things, what’s new in this year’s versions of Proficy iFIX (which had its premiere during the conference) and Proficy Historian (pre-release), learned some good tips that might be of help while migrating iFIX projects, and found out a bit about the new licensing model announced by GE Digital. They also saw the possibilities of data analytics in Proficy CSense, and Slawomir Kubas (Software Engineer) showed the potential of our newest Proficy star – Operations Hub.

At the end of the event, partners participating in the Solution Provider Program (SPP) received commemorative posters.
