7th VIX Automation Conference – Climb to the top
The beginning of October is traditionally the month in which the VIX Automation Conference is held. This time, company customers and partners as well as Industry 4.0 proponents gathered on 3-4 October in Zakopane under the slogan: “Climb to the top – Industry 4.0”.
VIX Automation Conferences mean not only technical information about news products in the offer of GE Digital, whose software is distributed in Poland by VIX, but also information about actual implementations and successes related to them. Many customers boasted of their achievements, including Andrzej Sachajdak, PhD, Eng., from the Silesian University of Technology. Paweł Czepiel, the VIX Automation Sales Director, gave a speech about implementations of solutions from the organizer’s portfolio, while Thomas Schulz, the Channel Manager at GE Digital, discussed global achievements.

The event also included other topics related to Industry 4.0. Krzysztof Nowak discussed implementations of additive solutions in Poland as well as Multi Jet Fusion, which is an innovative 3D printing technology by HP Inc. Thanks to guests from Omnitec, this year’s conference touched on the topic of virtualisation of servers in the world of automation.
Every year the guests of the VIX Automation Conference can also enjoy a spiritual experience. Piotr Pogon, a Polish fundraiser and marathon runner, told a story of fortitude, overcoming your weaknesses, and human longing for risk. The participants could also meet Jakub Kot, a Polish ski jumper, coach, and FIS delegate, who told them about ski jumping, or the Pole`s favourite sport.
Every year, for conference participants, VIX Automation organises a reference visit to one of its customers in order to present the solutions that it distributes in action. This year, the participants could visit SEWiK Tatrzańska Komunalna Grupa Kapitałowa.
The guests were welcomed by Mirosław Sikora, the President, and Marcin Rafacz, the Head of the Technical and Investment Department. During the reference visit, the participants could learn more about the water treatment process and the support provided for SEWiK in the form of a visualisation using SCADA/HMI iFIX.
Each edition of the Conference means new projects, implementations, and successes about which the distributor of GE Digital software is eager to tell others, while – apart from VIX – the event itself could not take place without its partners (3D Center, Silesian University of Technology, Omnitec) and, most of all, company customers.
Every year the Conference is supported and promoted by the largest publishers and websites focused on industry and automation. In addition, the event is also a great source of knowledge about Industry 4.0, which is now a permanent item on the calendar of events of this kind in Poland.
The Conference, growing together with the company from Katowice, changes the image of the Polish industry and indicates exciting development opportunities for every company.
